ABOUT
Sydney Pereira is an actor/singer currently based in New York City. She grew up in both Fall River, Massachusetts and Elon, North Carolina. She fell in love with theatre at the ripe age of eleven when she was in her very first production, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She continued to participate in various chorus and theatre opportunities throughout middle and high school, including NC Governor's School and her local theatre's youth executive board, and simply could not shake the bug.
Following in her father's footsteps, she attended Auburn University and graduated with her BFA in Musical Theatre. During her time at Auburn, she trained and collaborated with Andrew Schwartz, Abdul-Khaliq Murtadha, Ashley Butler, Dr. Scott Phillips, Dr. Elizabeth Benson, Dr. Charlotte Lee, Jamie Mablin, Brian Osborne, and Jeri Dickey, both in class and during departmental productions. Additionally, she participated in masterclasses led by Patti LuPone and Jessica Vosk at the Gogue Performing Arts Center. Outside of class, Sydney served as President, Vice President, and Secretary of AU Players, the university's student-led theatre organization, where she helped to put up Auburn's very first entirely student-organized production. She made her professional debut in the summer of 2023, originating the role of Lumina at Lost Island Themepark working with RWS Entertainment.
When not performing, she has found passion for reading, running, crafting, and wig design and building. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and of course her kitties, Winston and Molly. She is known to always be up for an adventure!
Sydney has a strong passion for storytelling and the human connection. She believes wholeheartedly that theatre and the arts are at the very core of what makes us human because of the ways in which the arts allow us to connect with one another. Sharing her passion, empathy, and love for those around her is what drives Sydney as an artist. To her, theatre is community, and she approaches each project with a collaborative mindset and a desire to bring joy and love to every space she enters.
